Energy Technology Perspectives 2017

The Energy Technology Perspectives 2017 (ETP) is the International Energy Agency (IEA)’s comprehensive publication on energy technology which focuses on the opportunities and challenges of scaling and accelerating the deployment of clean energy technologies. The ETP considers the different ongoing trends in the energy sector and respective technological advances. The report includes for the first time a scenario with ambitious climate mitigation ambitions leading to an increase of global average temperature to only 1.75°C above pre-industrial levels. It is emphasised that this would require an unprecedented level of policy support for technological innovations and a coordinated approach between sectors and countries.
